Seems to be dragging on and on. The boss is still trying to find ways to avoid paying retrenchment benefits by luring the staff to resign and save on paying them. I think somebody got to put a stop to it. Any ideas to contribute to me.

During current economic crisis, businesses both big or small will somehow or rather be affected. Some bosses will be kind enough to pay retrenchments and layoff the staff while others will try to find excuses not to pay off the staff although they can afford to. I am working in a public listed company. The company use this excuse to outsource our services. To me outsourcing means giving thejob to an experience party which has a proper record. In our company’s case this outsource party is new to our services. This company is not qualified to be our outsource partner. Negotiations are being handled by a single person at the top management. I find it suspicious because of the following points.

1. This company is just starting to join our line of business only.

2. It is a company without financial background.How I know? The conditions for the outsource required a deposit from the oucetsour party,and the company unable to raise the sum of money.

3. The top management(1 person only) is trying to push through although conditions and terms not met.

4. If the outsource is completed then all the company staff will be jobless as the outsource company , although new in this line has indicated that they will not employ us.

Our top management has indicated that they will transfer us to HQ (300km from our present place) where they have plenty of jobs. We have check and knew that what they say is not true. We suspect that they want us to resign on our own to avoid paying any compensation. Presently notice is only verbally and effective date is unknown.

Appreciate that comments from out there would guide us what to do next. I suspect that there is something fishy going on buy not sure how to approach this problem.
